84TH. GRAND PROMENADE MEETING MINUTES July 16, 2005  Topeka Ks.

 

1:04 P.M. Grand Chef Roger Bouton called the Promenade to Order.

Color’s in place – Hand Salute, Pledge of Allegiance was recited and Grand Aunonier Christensen offered prayer.  35 members were present.

 

Richard Harmon, - Topeka City Councilman welcomed the 40/8 to Topeka.

 

Host Voiture 1148’s Chef de Gare Walter Norris welcomed all to Topeka. 

 

The National Guest , Chef De Chemin De Fer Russ “Mac” McCarthy was introduced by Dan Land.

 

Chef De Chemin De Fer “Mac” talked about the General’s Club which helps to pay for the Law Officer of the Year expenses to attend conventions.  Membership is $ 15.00 per year and you receive a pin and membership card.  The wife’s are also eligible to join.

 

Department of Kansas American Legion Commander Ernie Cooper was introduced.

 

Roll Call of Grade Officers was conducted.

 

REPORTS OF GRAND OFFICERS

 

 Grand Chef de Gare Roger Bouton advised he had went to Manhattan where new officers had been elected and swore them in.  He had attended the Dept. Commanders homecoming, went to the National Convention, the Eisenhower Pilgrimage, Mid Winter promenade, visited various Voitures.  See attached list.

 

Grand Chef de Train Dan Roberson gave his report on membership.  – see attached

 

Grand Avocat William Stahl reported on the reorganization of the Manhattan Voiture.

 

Grand Commissaire Intendant Bruce Kouba reported on finances.  See report attached.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Bruce Kouba advised he would like to have the Box Car shipped to Overland Park, Kansas to be displayed at the 2007 National Convention.  He stated we could possibly put it on tour to three or four cities when it’s being shipped to Overland Park.

 

Promenade was recessed at 3:20 P.M. to be reconvened after the 9 A.M. Joint Memorial Service.

Election of Delegates and Alternates to Promenade National

 

Election of Officers for 2005, a notion was made and 2nd.,  to cast a unanimous ballot of acclamation for the un-opposed nominees for office.

 

Recess to allow Guest’s to be admitted for the installation of Officers.
